Hello Everybody!
Welcome back to Healthy Habit Friday! So, I survived week one. And for anyone looking for a recap, it looked a little something like this…

Yeah, it was a rough week. But! At the end of it, I discovered something super important. Coffee and creamer was definitely one of my vices. I was totally using it as a crutch to get through stressful situations rather than facing my stress head on. But it was so good to drink tea instead of coffee. I was able to counteract getting a cold from my son by adding Throat Coat or Gypsy Cold Care to my Green tea. So, I didn’t get sick and my energy levels actually began to level out. AND! I finally bought the tea kettle I’ve been wanting. Yay!

So, it is Friday and now I have to pick a new habit to pick up and put an old one down. As I was going through my no coffee journey, I noticed that I was not drinking enough water throughout the day but I was picking up other things to drink. Like juice or soda. So, this week, I am putting down the sugary drinks and picking up the water jug!

We all know we should drink more water. Not only are we made up of 60% of water, our bodies actually maintain themselves better when they are well hydrated. Staying hydrated increases energy and decreases fatigue, promotes weight loss, flushes toxins, prevents cramps, boosts your immune system, and it can even rid you of your headaches!

“But how much water is enough water?”

Smoothie Recipe From Nutrition Stripped
2 cups of filtered water
1 cup of coconut water (or double the filtered water)
1 large bunch (5 heaping handfuls) of organic lacinato kale/regular kale
1 large head of organic romaine
5-7 large stalks of organic celery, chopped
1 organic apple, cored and chopped
1-2 bananas, chopped
½ cup organic cucumber, chopped
½ cup of cilantro
½ cup of parsley
Juice of 1 lemon/meyer lemon
4 brazil nuts
dash of cayenne (optional yet recommended)
dash of cinnamon (optional yet recommended))
dash of turmeric (optional yet recommended))
INSTRUCTIONS
Using the Vitamix or a high-speed blender, pour filtered water(s) into the blender.
Add chopped celery stalks and romaine lettuce first, and turn on low speed to puree.
Gradually increase the speed and add chopped kale.
Add all remaining ingredients and blend until creamy!
*At this point you may add more water to achieve your desired consistency!
Pour into individual airtight mason jars or other airtight liquid container.
Notes
Nutritional information is for 1 banana not 2.

Ingredients

Methi leaves -hand-full
Wheat Flour-2cup
Water-1cup
Ginger-1tsp
Onion-1
Green chilli-3
Chilli powder-1/2tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Salt-
Oil-
Method
Wash and drain methi leaves..
Chop them and add in a bowl ..
To that add chopped ginger,onion,green chilli,chilli powder and turmeric powder (if u want ,u can add cumin ,coriander,garama masala powder, ajwain also).Then add atta and mix well..
Then in another vessel add water ,salt and oil ..mix well..
Then slowly add methi atta mix to the water and make soft dough ..
check the salt ..
Now allow the dough to rest atleast 20 minutes ..

After 20 minutes …make big balls out of the dough ..
and roll out desired shape of paratha ..
Heat tawa and make paratha ..
so yummy methi paratha is ready to serve ..
serve with curd ,pickle,onion and lemon wedges ..…

All the Signs That You’re Not Drinking Enough Water

Water is essential for our survival, a basic need we all take for granted at some point in our daily lives.

However, with a long list of positive benefits, it remains a challenge for us to drink the recommended amount of eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day.

Drinking more water is not only good for our bodies, but also for our minds, organs, skin, and muscles. If you experience any of these seven signs of dehydration, it may be time to refill that bottle of water soon.

Your urine is dark yellow

This is often the first sign that you are not drinking enough water. In general, the urine should be a light yellow-amber color.

When a person does not consume enough water, the kidneys excrete a “greater concentration of waste products in the urine, including dead blood cells, toxins, proteins and other products that must be eliminated from the body,” which produces darker urine.

You may also notice darker urine after consuming certain medications, B vitamins, beets, berries, asparagus or food coloring. If you notice a temporary change in the color of the urine,

first consider whether you have consumed something that could alter the color of your urine. Then, increase your water intake and see if your urine color becomes lighter. If your urine stays dark for a prolonged period of time, it could be a sign of more serious health problems, such as hepatitis or gallstones.

As of January 2015, states and communities have been adjusting the level of fluoride in public water systems for 70 years—which makes this a great time to look at facts:
· Roughly 74 percent of Americans whose homes are connected to a public water system receive fluoridated water.
· Water fluoridation has resulted in about a 25 percent decrease in tooth decay for children and adults.
· Adjusting fluoride levels in water is one of the most effective and cost-saving strategies for states and communities to improve the oral health of their residents.
